Writing Pet Peeve

Why are more online writers using a small I when referring to themselves? What the hell is that about? Are they just too lazy to capitalize the damn thing? Or do they just think they are small people, not worthy of a big I? Whatever the reason, it would behoove them to form a correct sentence if they want others to take their writing seriously.

I?ve just finished looking at a few blogs and messages on a forum that didn?t capitalize anything. Hell, I?m surprised they used a period at the end of their sentences! Sheesh! One was a short story that I gave up on reading because it lacked having a comprehensible structure. It?s just too distracting to be an enjoyable experience for the reader.

Perhaps I?m just too old to make the switch to a different form of writing but if a writer doesn?t make an effort to form a readable sentence, what does that say about them as a writer and/or what they are writing about? It tells me they don?t care enough about themselves and their writing for me to care enough to read their lazy style.

Tip of the day: Always use basic sentence structure when writing for the public. It doesn?t take much more of an effort and it will make it easier for readers to read.
