Yeppie!

Well, I managed to move this blog to my own servers and setup Wordpress and import all my posts. Importing the database from b2 tables into wp tables was a bit tricky but fortunately someone else figured out how to do it easily. If you are wanting to change over to Wordpress from b2, you should read this.

Now I just need to work on the design and layout. But it looks like that will have to wait for awhile. I might take some time off from the site design I’m currently doing for a friend and get this blog looking a little better. I was more concerned about transporting my posts and comments than I was about the design. I’ll be back, sooner rather than later, I hope.

Congratulations, glad to see that you have sucessfully moved over toe WordPress from B2.
Alex King at alexking.org has some great plugins for WordPress and scriptygoddess is another good source for scripts and plugins for WordPress.
Take a look at Alex King’s WordPress style switcher script. I love it, now I’m never stuck with just one web design and your frequent readers can choose how they’d like your site to look.
Can’t wait to see your new design.

Hey, Paul, I went to your blog today looking for information on the script hacks/plugins that I read about there awhile back. I did find both sites and there are a few I want to implement but I will do the design first, I think.

I didn’t realize that I could change the look/style of your blog so I went back and had some fun! b2 had several developers that created a style changer hack. I just never had the time to explore how it worked and create different styles. I may do it with this new blog script someday.

I’m going to have to add the info about comments having to be approved in the comment field so that others do not get confused, also. I was just getting soooo many spammy comments before moving that I had to look at my blog several times a day to keep them weeded out. I can imagine how difficult it is to manage comment spam on a large blog. Perhaps that’s why many of them have disabled comments altogether. The last one I got could not be deleted. I have no idea what they did but when I went into my database to manually remove it my database became corrupted. I was able to fix it but what a pain. So I just did what I was going to do anyway. I just did it sooner than I had planned. I’m glad I did, I love WordPress!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
